"Fuck the hate"
"We're all gonna be dead in 100 years"
Or 15 in Cheeses case
Not surprising but Dana White is saying Punk probably won't get a 2nd UFC fight.
Will if it gets then buys.
Most sites were reporting only about Punk or other celeb thoughts on Punk.
I though he signed a multi fight deal? I guess there have gotta be clauses. Not that I think it's wise for him to embarrass himself again. If he really wants to keep fighting latch on to some local independent shows with dudes his skill level.
I'm sure his deal was that UFC has him under control for X amount of fights but they can release him whenever. Pretty it also has no guaranteed money unless he actually fights. We'll see if he actually likes MMA or he just liked getting this pay day because his only other job right now is comic book writing, which I don't know how long that can last either.
He got thoroughly beat. He's an amateur level fighter. He's drawing power has diminished a lot and one more loss pretty much kills his MMA career. It's not going anywhere to begin with. He's 37 with below average athleticism doing MMA for the first time in his life. Other wrestlers that went on to do MMA like Lesnar and Lashley had wrestling backgrounds in college. Lesnar was a NCAA champion and Lashley was a NAIA champion.
Punk should get on a beer league hockey team and see if anyone will buy the PPV of that, seems like a good career move for him.
I bet he can make a decent career doing cons. Showing up and signing autographs for a couple hours.
Yeah I'm sure he can. He should just make nice with WWE and negotiate a contract where he doesn't have to do house shows and he just shows up at either Raw or Smackdown and the PPVs and gets a set number of time off.
Then again there are rumors 203 did upwards of 600k buys and if that's true, I would bet on Punk getting another UFC match.
And if UFC cuts him, he will almost certainly get an offer from Bellator
Dana White already said that he can fight for the UFC as long as he can sell PPVs, but you never know.
Won't happen til he drops his lawsuit
Allegedly this lawsuit also cost him his friendship with Colt Cabana, who was in on the lawsuit but Punk got pissy he was at a show
New owners getting rid of TUF and replacing it with a reality show to find the next new ring girl.
"McGregor headlined two pay-per-view events [in 2015] which did a combined 2.025 million buys, according to the UFC’s numbers. Both of those events far outpaced even the top-selling pay-per-views of the previous year, and by the end of 2015, the two events headlined by McGregor accounted for slightly more than a quarter of the year’s pay-per-view sales.
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey also turned in strong numbers, selling a combined 2.6 million pay-per-views over the course of three events in 2015. Still, after McGregor helped the UFC to 1.3 million more buys in his first fight with Nate Diaz in 2016, the UFC’s own analysis highlights him as not only the biggest pay-per-view star of the moment, but also in all of company history."
Jedrzejczyk routs Kowalkiewicz, keeps UFC title
All I needed from tonight.
Jason Ellis is desperately trying to get a fight with CM Punk. I would buy that. I like both of them.
UFC started the 145lb. women's division that nobody has been asking for. It will draw almost all of its fighters from existing 135lb. roster, which seems to be the smallest in the UFC. They offered Cyborg a fight against Holly Holm for the new title in February, but she turned it down, so Holm will fight somebody else for the title instead. Holm is 0-2 in her last 2 fights.
Hopefully never hear Rousey's name again, sick of the hyped drama bullshit.
Yeah, apparently her 15 minutes were up over a year ago
2016 claims another
I've never been in a fight, but how does a professional fighter look like this?
She won almost all of her fights by submission, and her striking coach is so awful that her mother called him out publicly while she was still undefeated.
God that shit is fucking embarrassing...
I like how basically the entire MMA industry is like, you need to get a real striking coach or better yet you probably need to train at one of those mega MMA teams but she's too stubborn to do so
Jones reminds everybody that he's the GOAT.
His next fight could be against Lesnar.
The Mooch had Jones.
Where'd did Lesnar thing come from? It's a genius idea to sell PPV buys but this fight idea seemingly came out of nowhere. Hopefully Lesnar doesn't juice if the fight happens.
A few weeks ago, there was a rumor that he added his name to the PED testing pool, which would only happen if he wanted to fight in X number of months. He's the second biggest draw in UFC history, and draw #1 is taking a boxing match, so the UFC will give him whatever he wants, whether that's Vegas or MSG or whatever. Plus, Lesnar's last fight was a great experience for him.
The only other promotable fight on the horizon is GSP vs. Bisping, which they've been talking about for a year but still haven't booked.
Lesnar owes six months of clean piss from a suspension he received from the Mark Hunt fight. So if he quietly unretired prior to July 1 he could headline the Dec 30 UFC 219 in Vegas against Jones. That fight would crush UFC sales records and would be a better fight that what will be shown Aug 26. I would still expect Jones to win but it would be entertaining. If they could get GSP on the card even better. Only competition may be College football bowl games and maybe an NFL game or two
I forgot Jones was gone for a year because he was juicing too. I thought it was his personal life/recreational drug shit.
So hopefully in a Jones vs Lesnar match it doesn't get ruined by one of them not pissing clean.
I would pay to see Jones/Lesnar before I would pay for McGregor/Mayweather.
Is it gonna be much of a fight due to weight? Jones will have to gain to match (unless catch weight but rumors are he will put on) vs Lesnar natural weight. Small changes like that do matter. Then again all Jones needs to do is kick to the diverticulitis.
Jones cuts to get to 205. I imagine he'd be 230-something against Lesnar. Maybe even bigger if he plans to stay at HW.
On the ufc official site they list Brock at 265. Obviously it's probably inaccurate but taking for what it is, it's a big difference depending on time
265 is the max a heavy weight can weigh in at. When the bell rings he is probably 280-285. Once the weigh-in is complete those guys start hydrating their bodies and eating a lot. GSP was typically around 190 when he fought at welter weight which is a 170 weigh in.
All the logistics aside, sportsbooks have already opened odds for the massive superfight. Jones hit the board on July 31, less than 48 hours after UFC 214, as a hefty -350 favorite with Lesnar coming back at +265.
GSP returns to face Skotty's guy Bisping at UFC 217 in NYC.
Rumour I heard yesterday is the Jon Jones is they're working on having Jon Jones show up at Summerslam and cost Lesnar the belt. This was from Taz on the the radio.
Also it's rumored Rousey may go to WWE.
If lesnar comes back doesn't he still need to serve a suspension?
Is this finally going to happen?
Probably. GSP signed the bout agreement today.
Jon Jones tests postive for PEDs. What a fucking joke.
Him vs Lesnar would be perfect
