Screw that. Van Wyk tried to emulate Wooden Hell with Hellshire I years back and it was an abortion.
What was wrong with it? I've had the current addition of Sheol that they're using for it and it was very good.
I'm sure my cousin can hook me up, so better off than my brother and I each buying 2 bottles anyway.
This isn't going to go over very well. Bud bought / partnered with / whatever Asheville's Wicked Weed:
IMO, their beer is completely average but, as in most things, Southerners are graded on a curve. Wicked Weed is arguably the most important (though far from the best) craft brewery in the South.
Wicked Weed always had a bunch of corporate money behind them, so this isn't surprising. As these things go, most likely the brewers will leave and do something else, and no new beers will come out of Wicked Weed.
And as you said, shit was average at best.
Former BreakRoom and Finch space will be Ravinia Brewing.
Why that name in that location? They repeatedly tried and failed to open in the N Burbs.
And now they sold the other half to Heineken. Tony Magee stays as "global craft director" for Heineken, even though he must be unimaginably rich.
Having a Galaxy Wolf now. Good juicy east coast DIPA. Glad to be home.
Also... back to BeviBall???
Just stopped at half acre after work to pick up the Galactic Double Daisy Cutter release. They opted for 4 pk 16 oz cans instead of 22 oz bombers this year. Good shit.
tomorrow is national homebrew day (big brew day). i am celebrating by brewing a belgian wit by myself.
You freaking zymurgist!
Drinking a BUSCH right now.
Killed a whole case of High Life by myself camping this weekend.
24 beers over 2 or 3 days?
High Life is the 30 cube, man
Actually, forgot that a few of them got used by others in drinking games on Saturday.
Probably 26 beers between Friday night and all day Saturday (with 1 left I drank Sunday morning).
Brought a bottle of saison back and gave it to Deuce.
for his tasting notes.
for the next Tap Takeover in the Loop
Found 4 star pilsner, or whatever, at KROGER.
Getting some for day drinking on the holiday.
At the bar. There's currently a Chainlink gathering. Paging mo.
I wonder if Haps abouts are this weird to outsiders.
Wtf is that
A Chicago biking message board. I discovered mo while lurking in a DumpJerry-esque fashion.
Biking genes, basically. Surprising number of females... based on their size, for the most part, you'd think that they've never been on a bike before.
I've always thought we're normal people irl despite knowing each other from a gay gentleman SOX message board
That's true. It helps that good turnout at a haps about is 5 or 6 people. There are at least twenty here now.
The chick who owns the site isn't too bad, unless I'm confusing her with a better looking woman.
But, yeah, you see a lot of women's softball body types on bikes these days. I can only imagine how many calories they must eat to maintain that.
I think she may have been there. Not bad by any means.
I'm thinking of this chick:
The chick who owns the site definitely was there but might be a completely different chick.
I met the woman in the pic one day while biking down Halsted.
Love the nose piercings.
Opening day is June 8th. It's like 2 blocks west of Moody Tongue which is 1 block west of Skylark.
Going to brave the parade of revealing-shorts-clad high school slutz at Ogilvie to grab some beers with a few coworkers in a bit.
Played in a golf outing on Saturday won straightest drive competition. For winning it I won two growlers of Pollyanna from their tap room. I will most likely never use them.
Found me a 4 pack down here.
It's been kinda regular in LA now. I guess Toppling Goliath made a deal with a contract brewer in FL making it fairly easy to come by.
There's been steady supply here. Solid beer to crack open with the boys.
I think the phrase "crack one open with the boys" might be a ToS nom in the future
I hope sycked never stops cracking one open with the boys...
The Open Bottle in Tinley (suburbs - only applies to me and Ballz) put out a collab with Hailstorm. Solid brew to crack open with the boys.
Grabbed some Beer Hates Astronauts. Fantastic beer to crack open with the boys even if it's at least 50° too hot for the porch.
Interestingly enough, I also have some BHA along with my OB/Hailstorm collab.
