How much do you get paid, prope?
If I just do the varsity game it is $68. If I do sophomore and varsity game, it's $112. Freshman games are $53. I used to do grammar school games on Saturdays and I'd walk out of there with $250 cash most nights.
You're giving up 8-10 Saturdays in a row doing that, however.
But then there will be people in the crowd who will offer to give you a free pair of glasses!
I don't need anymore dishes.
It's for the love of the game, dood.
Softball, now that's where the money's at.
I mean, yeah, I enjoy doing it so the low pay doesn't really upset me. That being said, when I read things like refs in Texas get 1.5% of the gate and travel reimbursements.....I really want that raise.
That could be a lot of cash in Texas
1.5% of $10,000 is $150, then split that five ways.
I mean, I guess it would all depend on how much tickets were, the two teams involved, etc..
Looks like Oswego got romped in the 2nd round by East St Louis.
Fuck that town. We beat them both years I played, but we also had the best team in the history of Oswego football so that makes a difference. But I had to go there in 2003 and what an experience that was. People literally hanging on the fences yelling racial slurs at us. We won and literally had to run off the field, change and run to the bus while being escorted by the police.
HBO was there doing a special on the resurgance of East St Louis football. Sorry to ruin your documentary.
Fucking Hilltoppers crash out early again. Held without a TD at the crilla.
Was this a playoff game? If not why would any Oswego school official think it would be a good idea to go to East St Louis?
A couple years ago Providence had a playoff game down there. Turns out because of lightening the game was canceled, but Providence was already down there. I can't imagine what they had to choose for lodging down there.
Quarter-final round of the '03 playoffs.
Calling a bus to GTFO would be the most logical choice.
Drive 4-5 hours down there, head back home, only to return the next day?
Had to have been a place 45 minutes or so away that could have been nice.
Oh they had to have the game the next day... well that changes things.
Yeah I'm sorry, that wasn't very clear in my first post about that.
This...this has to be Viva doing the announcing right?
I like how some of the players and coaches are casually jogging over to the celebration while this Viva clone is jizzing his pants.
I'm pretty sure thats the Ultimate Warrior.
I'd imagine there would a big city near East st.Louis they could drive to. Can't think of what it's called...
East St Louis is in Illinois, Kansas City is in Missourri, what's this world coming to?
Michigan City, Indiana
E StL is the safest place on earth
St. Reeters won. Doug was nice of nice to inform me.
HF got kilted.
My High School Holla got to the Semi-Final and was supposed to get blown out;
My dad went to the game with his friend and told me they went up 7-6 with 6 minutes left;
Got the ball back and punted it down to the 2 with 2:00 left. First play of the drive other team completed their biggest pass of the game and got it to the 25. Then they won with a field goal on the last play of the game 9-7.
High Schools will never Holla again
The Mighty Mustangs of St Reeters will be facing the 2 time defending state champion Tigers (cake-eaters) from Wheaton-Warrenville South. Kick off will be at 6:00pm on the hallowed grounds of Pat Cronin field at Doyle Stadium located in the 7700 block of S Western Ave. For any of you attending tonights contest please remember to wear you flak jackets as this neighborhood is not to be confused with Mr Rodgers. Anyone living in the Beverly/Morgan Park/Mt Greenwood areas ordering delivery pizza this evening expect long waits as the finest pizza drivers St. Reeters has too offer will be busy tweeting and texting game results prior to drinking at Rhino Bar and/or McNally's.
Hit 'em high, Hit 'em low, Go Reeters Go.
Rita? But Dad, we're Jooish.
My uncle got inducted into the St. Joe's HOF on Saturday so we watched the St Joe's/Rita game. Man, they don't play ball like that in Oswego. That was so much fun. Joe's pulled it out in a real exciting game.
I'm not going to be "that guy" going to all their games or anything, but I'll definitely follow Joe's for the remainder of this year. Rita was ranked 14 and Joe's was unranked.
The Boring World of Niels Bohr continues in a high school football thread in mid February
Homewood-Flossmoor coach, girls basketball team disqualified, lose all wins from season
What a fucking shit show. 4 hikes cools? What would Gaelic think about that?
Overshadowed a fantastic meltdown by Orr. Jah and Cliff face off on Friday.
Loses her starting spot, files a lawsuit.
Curie (Cliff) vs. Young (Jah) 7p on ESPN3 or the Cube tonight. Should be sweet.
I wouldn't be terribly sad if something awful happened to Cliff that ended his basketball career just because I want his douchebag dad(?) to never get to ride the gravy train.
It'll also be fun to see how much better Okafor is.
That Young/Orr game was awesome. Hope this one is 1/5 as good.
I hope Slaughter knows that Okafor is the best player on the floor.
Cliff is just not that skilled at this point. I take Jah 11 times out of 10. Also, Paul White is smooth... more of him in the second kindly.
McReynolds is such a fucking chump.
Holy shit this game. Free basketball!
is this all high school talk? cuz if so, time to close this shit.
On to OT3.
Curie wins. But in 3 weeks...the Marist sectional!
