Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar | Artisinal Beverages and Craft Beers in Bridgeport
Still too far west for pickup before Sox games. I should probably buy beer from them though instead of big corporate CVS.
doesn't anyone care that mcnamara beat ignatius last night? is nothing sacred?
Quite the beer list.
Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar Bar - Beer Menu Chicago
Cans Beer Name Brewery ABV Price
Capital Island Pale Ale (12 oz. Can) Capital Brewery 5.0 $4.0
Capital Island Wheat (12 oz. Can) Capital Brewery $4.0
SKA Modus Hoperandi (12 oz. Can) SKA Brewing 6.8 $5.0
Pleased to see Capital Island Wheat on there but, for $4 per can, I'll just wait until I can get a sixer somewhere.
$4 for a can of really good beer in a bar is a good price.
In before joke about Cheeses being an entrepreneur.
$4 for a watery Miller Lite, or $5 for a Left Hand Brewery Milk Stout?
SKA is a go-to label for me.
Also 4 for a can of good beer is a great price.
I paid 4.79 for Coronas in Red Robin the other day.
I hope you fucking choked.
I get the bill and I'm like
I don't remember ordering bacon wrapped onion rings
Seriously, 4.79 for American beer? WTF is this a ballgame?
Only ate at that shithole because I was stuck at the mall and had eaten naught but a bagel the entire day.
yeah, beer at restaurants is un disastre
Un disastro con electricidad?
un gato malodoro
Standard from what I've seen. Drafts are usually $4 minimum, usually $5. Shit, they probably charge $2 for a fucking soda.
look, can we agree that cliff lee has recently had una catastrophia con una pelota de beisbol
Pinstripe is one of my favorite beers.
That Ska beer is disgusting.
I had a Modus Hoperandi and Mega had like a HopenChange. We both walked like ten feet with them and threw it out.
ska beer tossing of our ska fathers
Went here tonight with my buddy Adolfo, a school chum of Cheeses, and his wife. Cheeses should go here with his wife.
As advertised, it's hipsterama with an amazing beer selection.
I've been to Maria's, but only have done takeout.
The bar in the back is worth a visit. You can sit there and eat your savory pie from Pleasant House Bakery, which is right next door.
I went here today to sample Virtue Cider on tap. Bartender recommended a shot of rye in the glass. It was fucking delicious, as was the goat pie from next door.
One of the guys from Beer Download was at this event, and said that Virtue with Templeton Rye was great. I have a bottle of Templeton at the crib, ready for the next Garage-a-bout.
Pint of cider with the shot was $9 IIRC.
Pint of cider without a shot is $8 at Hub51.
The after-party at the so-called "Co-Prosperity Sphere" includes free Founder's beer, according to EdMar.
They will start selling their own beer this spring.
Founders KBS, Devil Dancer, Curmudgeon, etc. tonight, along with free BBQ.
I might stop by on my way home.
I was at Turtle's on 31st last week for the Germany/Portugal bar. Not a bad little spot.
Hamburger was fucking amazing.
Maybe I'll bike down for this.
Anniversary party Aug. 22-23.
Friday night, they're tapping Firestone Walker XVII Anniversary, The Bruery Sucre, Revolution 4th Year Quad, North Coast/Goose Class of ’88, and Surly Darkness.
Saturday = free BBQ in the parking lot from 4-9pm, featuring Chef Kevin Hickey.
Interesting if true
Hint: it's not
FW 17 and Sucre are two pretty good beers.
If I'm not doing anything Saturday, I'll most likely go to that
Of course shitty weather may now prevent me from going
Beer is pretty good. They're having a "launch party" on Sept. 8th. I'm not sure what that means, but it probably involves free stuff. If anybody's interested, I'll post the RSVP info tomorrow.
Headed overby the launch party in a minute, after a pit stop at Haymarket. Monday drinking!
EDIT: 20 beers + honey butter fried chicken + PQM sausage = gratis. My god, this yuzu berliner weiss.
Yuzu was excellent. I love me a white German, but add a little yellow, and its fucking perfect. All the owners were cool, having a good time and giving all their product away for free. Fuck Fobab.
They broke ground on the lot next door to expand into a restaurant. The chef they hired won the most recent Cutthroat Kitchen.
Restaurant opens today for all your Korean / Polish fusion needs.
Also, 24 more taps and a new outdoor seating area.
