It wasn't the Bulleit that laid him to rest,
Was the low spark of high heeled boys
Elijah is good shit. Man, it's got all this spice flavor and a deep color with a 92 proof, but despite all that it's velvety on the tongue because it's 12 years old. It's great that we can get such high quality products for low low prices.
I have had some remarkable tasting cocktails the last two evenings. Normally I don't like to mix my bourbon with anything, but I have been opening up on that front of late. Tonight I had something called a Pineapple Blast, which was Woodford Reserve with Pineapple Juice on ice. Very refreshing!
Last night, I had a Woodford Martini which was very tasty followed up with some other signature drink that had Hudson corn whiskey, some peach something and a dash of cinnamon flavoring.
That'll about do it for this board
Hudson corn whiskey , some peach something and a dash of cinnamon flavoring .
Coming from a guy who can't hold his whiskey...
He had like a third of a bottle of 90 proof bourbon. It was 40USD too if that makes a difference (it does).
Plus Mo's heavy ABV beers before the Michter's.
But, yeah, I'm a pussy drinker.
couple of beers and 1/3 a fifth of whiskey for the entire night?
Those weren't my words, but if the shoe fits...
Going to Lexington for a week. Time to sample the finest local offerings...and also drink Makers
Makers tastes like bananas
Last year I went to Louisville for the Kentucky Oaks.
Stayed at a friend's place. They have a chicken coup and he gave us great bourbon. Put some fresh local honey in it and it was fantastic. I've never had that before and that's right when this Jim Beam Honey stuff started to become "popular." I didn't know putting honey in it was a thing as opposed to being some sort of shitty marketing thing.
Anyway, Bourbon is great and it's better than Scotch but Scotch is also great.
Nothing but horses and queers in Lexington. Which are you?
Realized there isn't a drop of whiskey in my place so I just went out and bought some Maker's 46. Was considering getting some Woodford but decided I'm too cheap.
They're both garbage and overpriced
Been drinking the bottle of Johnny Drum Private Stock that the mrs. picked me up as a Valentine's Day gift. Has some aggresiveness neat, but some water or an ice sphere opens it up nicely.
I got ice sphere moulds.
Only way to put ice in bourbon and not be drinking 70% water by the end of the glass
Another way: drink it faster, Nancy.
Yeah, tell Zoso how to drink whiskey like a man.
Best $7 I've spent in a while.
Coworker gave me his extra set of rubber square ice makers.
My only issue with them is that they actually melt too slowly.
Spherical ice melts the slowest. If you want water down whiskey you just use regular ass cubes
Why the fuck did I pay 799?
I should clarify -- the ice maker I got makes giant cubes, at least 2" wide.
My problem is, it doesn't chill down the bourbon enough, as is my preference.
*cue some talking about the properties of bourbon working best without being chilled in 3...2...1*
Didn't need to clarify that, that's the point. Cool it off, take the sting out, don't water it down. That's why they're big.
You could also use a shaker, gently spin it and strain it out.
I don't like Jim Beam white label at all. Can't drink it.
I get a handle of that for whiskey cokes.
They usually last about 2 weeks
I wonder how much that stuff is.
Law officials in Kentucky have busted a bourbon-theft ring and recovered more than $100,000 in stolen bourbon, including hard-to-find Pappy Van Winkle and several barrels of Wild Turkey.
A grand jury in Franklin County, Ky. on Tuesday indicted nine people involved in the ring, according to the sheriff’s office.
The local sheriff’s office said it uncovered the ring after receiving a tip and seizing barrels of bourbon stolen from Davide-Campari SpA’s Wild Turkey distillery in Lawrenceburg, Ky. It said the group also was involved in the 2013 theft of about 200 bottles of the rare and wildly popular Pappy Van Winkle bourbon made by Sazerac Company Inc.
I might have pappy haps this Friday
Had a nitecap of it last night.
Having a glass of Michter's American with honey
Had some Pappy at dinner last week.
Is it all that?
Drinking Oak Aged Curmudgeon by Founder's.
A friend gave it to me after some asshole (Deuce) stole my only bottle.
Yes. Yes it really is.
Could've had 15 for like 15 bucks half oz. passed
One year to the day for the cheeses bike riding fail, according to my Facebook.
Turns out I bought the same bottle of Michters today. What are the odds?
Fuck, is it Christmas already? Nice!
Did he lose his first bottle in the divorce?
