Did you know water is wet?
Gathered from an article on ESPN.
20 of the 30 MLB teams wear their team name on home whites, city or state name on road grays. Name the ten that don't. (The White Sox are one of the 20 since they have part of their name in their logo.)
I'll pass, because I already read the article earlier and don't want to be labeled a CHEATER.
Just noticed the Rockies have Charlie Sheen as a relief pitcher
Eaton may have destroyed his ankle
A bit on the floppy side
Torn ACL for him.
Yikes. Better an ACL than Achilles I guess.
Goes to show the importance of moving guys once you are committed to selling.
Meanwhile the Cubs catch another break with a big injury to a potential playoff competitor.
that mets-nationals game...
4, 15, 11, 16, 5, 3, 23
77 runs for the week.
SHOCKING that such a thing would happen in Boston of all places:
“A disrespectful fan threw a bag of peanuts at me,” Jones told USA Today’s Bob Nightengale after the game. “I was called the N-word a handful of times tonight. Thanks. Pretty awesome.”
Jones said he heard there were as many as 60 ejections at Fenway Park.
"It’s unfortunate that people need [resort] to those types of epithets to degrade another human being," he said. "I’m trying to make a living for myself and for my family. … It’s unfortunate. The best thing about myself is that I continue to move on, and still play the game hard. Let people be who they are. Let them show their true colors.”
"I'm not racist I own a Mookie Betts jersey"
"Robert Parish is my 7th favorite Celtic of all time. "
Chris Sale continues to be a clown
Syndergaard could miss 3 months
Another possible suitor for.Q
Dude is a moron. Refused a MRI, pitched 40 pitches and then had to leave a game, took the MRI and it revealed a serious injury.
Perfect meathead for Boston.
Favorite actor Dennehy
Dennehy had some good roles
I guess basically the movies where he is an asshole.
Gladiator (without Russell Crowe).
He was an asshole in that one too.
Oh yeah, with Peter McAllister, the father.
Movie slays, forgot Dennehy was in that one.
I think the only other movie with him was some John Wayne Gacy flick on Lifetime or something, yet again playing an asshole.
He was also magnificent in
Best Seller (w/James Woods)
I think I saw Cocoon or some of it on a WGN late night movie years ago, but most likely was watching in passing while or doing laundry folding or ironing.
Was he an asshole in it? If not, then
Found out last night that my buddy will be able to give me a tour of AT&T Park on the 25th. Get to go on the field and in the dugouts
Then going to the game that Sunday.
Schilling and other white meatballs think that Adam Jones is lying, because Boston sports fans would NEVER use racial slurs.
When will Curt Schilling stop inflicting himself upon us?!?
Can't wait until that worthless POS is dead
Curt Schilling is and has always been an annoying asshat.
Oh, on his Breibart show.. That explains it.
Article on the rise of the non-prototypical leadoff hitter:
It's not surprising that teams would start to favor OBP over speed in this role. Yet, so far this year, leadoff hitters have posted league-average OBP numbers.
Goodbye Ricky Henderson type players.. the game will miss you.
Yes, goodbye to career .401 OBP type players
I hope Anthrax doesn't think Henderson's value derived from his speed. It helped, sure but even if he was slow as shit he would've been a very valuable player. He had excellent OBP numbers and actually had pretty good power numbers too.
I can't believe we have to spell this out, but...
The difference between old-school and new-school is the recognition that a fast guy who has zero power and rarely walks is not preferable to a slow guy with a much higher OBP. All-time greats like Henderson and Raines would leadoff under either system because they're both:
- fast guys who can steal a lot of bases and won't "clog" them up (old-school), AND
- have a power/speed combo that's frosting on the high-OBP cake (new-school).
Uniformly applied, it would spell the end of .620 OPS guys getting 5 PA/game just because they might steal 32 bases while getting caught 17 times.
Yankees have way too may ticket price tiers:
I like how they charge $276 for Field MVP for the Sunday game against the A's, but only $275 on Saturday.
Wonder how many quants they used to come up with this shit.
Watching Kid Clayton pitch in DC right now
Colon -> Flowers
