3 more s please.
10-0 Jndians in the third.
Really glad the Indians are still playing for homefield advantage, otherwise it would be scrub city.
Meanwhile Pelfrey ends the season 3-12 with a 5.93 ERA.
With Rodon's injury and shutting down Gio the tank should've been even more simple. But no Coop fixed Fulmer for a couple starts and Shields all of a sudden threw quality starts or near quality starts. And not to mention Avi, Delmonico, Abreu were remaining to hit red hot.
My buddy pointed this out to me the other day. Yolmer has basically eclipsed Frazier in value. Comparing their bWAR, Yolmer is 3.4 while Frazier is 3.1 this season. Anything over 3 means you are a competent MLB starter. Yolmer's defense metrics at 3B surpass that of Frazier too, although no doubt most of Yolmer's WAR value comes from being good at 2B while being able to maintain a league average bat.
Welp... Fulmer looks to be apart of the future rotation after all.
You just know this will be the game that decided the 4/5 draft pick. Absolutely unbelievably believable we fucked this whole tank thing up.
Yeah...Let's not get carried away here.
All they had to do was get beaten by the guy who might win the Cy Young this year. Instead they of course win, and the Reds of course lose. So now a Reds L tomorrow against the Cubs guarantees them #4 and Sox #5. After this whole year of sucking total shit. Assholes.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are playing one guy all 9 positions. I'm surprised they aren't fielding a team of Make A Wish kids at this point.
Kevan Smith hitting this shit out of the ball too.
Smith was always projected to hit. He was downgraded as a prospect based on his glove.
Watching an inning of Hawk's final road gayme ever.
3 walks so far in the 1st by Volstad.
3-0 Indians. Sox doing what they're supposed to do. Now we just need a miracle for the Reds to beat the Cubs.
Reds up 1-0 and threatening in the 4th.
2-0 now! Don't fuck this up.
3-0 Reds in the 8th.
3 more outs both for the Sox and Cubs.
Sox did their job, just need the Reds to finish the bottom of the 9th.
Edit: Aaaaand immediate solo shit. 3-1 Reds.
Reds win! That was fast. Sox get the #4 pick.
No reason to have gotten the #1. Team sux for sucking.
The Tigers did some pretty historic tanking. 6-23 in September. Gotta tip your cap. Giants are so bad they made this team look like world beaters. Then the Sox had an over .500 September, largely due to the abilities of the young guys they called up (despite some annoying Shields QS and Brantly heroics), so that's not so bad. Drafting 5th was just high enough to be annoying considering they were far one of the 2-3 worst teams in baseball for most of the year. So after all that, I'll take the #4 pick.
Exactly. Giolito pitched great, Moncada was .274/.343/.464 in September, Anderson was .339/.357/.486 in September, etc.
Though annoying that James “fuckface” Shields had by far his best month in September.
So does this thread title mean we have to eat our sox?
Also, White Sox lost Sale, Quintana, Eaton, Frazier, Robertson, Kahnle, Melky, Swarzak, and Gonzalez--and lost only 11 more games than last year.— Chuck Garfien (@ChuckGarfien) October 1, 2017
What a garbage manager Robin was.

So awesome that some guy named Rob Brantly came up and hit 296/406/444 on 32 PAs to have us probably win a game we had no business winning.
67-95 this year. Wonder if .500 is in the cards for 2018; I would certainly hope so.
It could be but why would tanking for another top 5 pick be a bad thing?
That would be fine in theory, but wouldn't you want to see more of deez keedz getting the call-up and starting to get their sea legs?
Lots of bold "Sox will win a Wild Card spot in 2018" predictions on Twitter tonight.
Either scenario will work in the long run. A dark horse team around .500 due to the young talent being a success or a mixture of success with the rest of the team being shit and causing another bottom 5 finish.
As long as simply being in contention doesn't mean making stupid moves or trades. Which I'm confident Hahn will not do.
Play the Coo 2 more times next year so there's 2 extra losses.
