Per Uni-Watch, the Angels are going to drop the "of Anaheim" from their name, and will be known as the Los Angeles Angels.

Matt Williams: Career over .500 (I know he's one of the worst managers ever, but still)
Don Mattingly: Wins divisions every year and he's let go.
Robin Ventura: Three straight losing seasons and he's back next year.

Is that Hangar? I do remember him drunk at a Sox Angels game being drunk and yelling in a 4 year old kids face how much the Cubs suck

    Sad to hear.

Does FA usually not pick up until after the gm meetings? There has yet to be 1 signing four days into free agency.

Anyone expecting the SOX to make any "huge" moves, or will it be all nibbling at the edges or outright gambles like LaDouche?
  33. sycked

sycked If you loved me, you'd all kill yourselves today.

You'll see whacky predictions from the "experts" with them having the Sox sign someone like Jason Heyward for $200 million over ten years, which would never happen.

I expect a few trades, but no big FA signings. I'd love to be wrong, but at the same time, it just seems like any remotely talented player turns to shit as soon as they join the team.

Peter Gammons says the White Sox are trading Chris Sale to the Red Sox for a catcher. That's pretty "huge." But fuck Peter Gammons is his stupid ass so no; they won't do much.

And that may also apply to Chris Sale. Even with 2015 draft choice Carson Fulmer coming out of Vanderbilt, the White Sox rotation is lefty-heavy, Sale is 26, cost effective, and they might be able to get a big position player package from Boston, Houston, the Cubs or Texas, teams with deep farm systems.

“If Jerry Reinsdorf would be willing to listen,” says an NL GM, “Boston could play. The White Sox need catching and they love Blake Swihart. They want a young shortstop, and (20-year old) Javier Guerra is as good as there is around. There are a lot of prospects there.”

Colby Rasmus accepts the qualifying offer from the Astros, making him the first player to ever do so under the system that is now 3 years old. I would have thought at least a few other guys would have taken it by now.

He probably could've gotten $10-11 million for 3-4 years but I guess he figured the QO is a better option for now.
